Quote of the trip: Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story.
Looking for the impossible? Try asking for a “happy” Irish song.
Favorite candy: Bar of Dark Chocolate with Guinness
Favorite drink: 12-year old Bushmills Whiskey, following the tour of the distillery
Favorite slang word: Craic (pronounced “crack”) – Fun! The only kind of craic I want!
Total steps: 214,518 (roughly 107 miles)
Blood pudding: It’s traditional so we tried it. Check! I’m good with a one and done on that. It must be an acquired taste. Pudding means something entirely different in Ireland.
Motion sickness happens: The roads are a bit bumpy causing motion sickness. Pack or pick up some medicine or some wristbands. I bought a pair of wristbands at a local pharmacy and they worked great.
Tour buddy: Kathi. Something fun and cool with a RS Tour is having a tour buddy, someone you are not traveling with, that you have as a back-up system to make sure everyone is on the bus or meet-up spot. No tour member left behind! Really enjoyed getting to know her on the trip and we live in the same state!

Travel Tips
Here are a few of my tips for traveling in Ireland.
- Wear sturdy shoes! There is a lot of walking on uneven surfaces and hiking opportunities.
- Bring a travel microfiber washcloth. Most public restrooms only have air dryers. These are lightweight and easy to stash in a day bag.
- Pack rain gear – no matter what time of year you are traveling.
- See live music in a pub - at least once.
- Take a picture of your daily itinerary the night it is posted. It gives you the heads up for the next day and works great for tracking where you were and what you did.
- Make the most of your bus time. Our guide used bus time to provide us with more history and stories, answer questions, play traditional Irish music CDs and just have down time. Most of use used the down time to check our guidebooks for restaurants, etc. at our next destination.
