Belfast!
And just like that we are at our last full day of the tour. We drove to Belfast for our last night and visited the Titanic museum, which is located on the very site where the ship was built. After a quick break for lunch, we met our local guide, Lolly. She was able to share first-hand accounts of the Troubles and what it was like growing up during that time. She also provided more context about the importance of Brexit and the peace between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
We spent our last evening of the tour enjoying a group dinner and reminiscing about all of our adventures. We’ve shared a lot of laughs and made new friends.
We had an amazing time in Belfast, and recommend adding a couple of days after the tour to do more sightseeing on your own. One day was not enough time for this city. If we make another trip to Ireland, this is one to add more time on the agenda.
Looking back on the trip, I feel that way about all of the cities and sites. Just not enough time. I was truly captivated by Ireland and felt like I left too soon. I have a feeling I will be back...
"Wow" Moment: I was struck by the murals throughout the city, including the peace wall. They were truly tell the story of the city.
